macOS
Universal .dmg (Apple Silicon + Intel), macOS 12+
Open the .dmg and drag OpenUno to Applications.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple — opens directly. One universal .dmg for Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 12+. Later versions install from inside the app.
Windows
NSIS installer - download and run
Run the installer and follow the steps.
Authenticode-signed via Microsoft Trusted Signing (SoftQuantus innovative OÜ). Later versions install from inside the app.
Linux
AppImage (chmod +x then run)
Make the file executable (chmod +x), then run it.
About the desktop app
How do updates work?
Install once. New versions are offered from inside the app, and this page always links to the latest release.
Is it the same as SynapseX Desktop?
Yes. OpenUno Desktop is distributed from the SynapseX Desktop release channel, so it gets every new version the day it ships. The installer and some screens may still show the SynapseX name.
Who publishes it?
SoftQuantus. The macOS build is signed and notarized, and the Windows installer is code-signed, as noted on each download.
Do I need the desktop app?
No. OpenUno Chat works in any modern browser. The desktop app is for people who prefer a window of its own.

OpenUno Chat runs in any modern browser, with nothing to install.
